Our day started with Green Eggs and Ham. Students experienced the taste of green eggs and ham. As they stared at the eggs they had to write a predicting paragraph that stated how they thought I got and made green eggs and ham. My favorite was that I took the eggs from Dr. Seuss. After they ate the green eggs and ham students drew a picture explaining where they would like to eat green eggs and ham.
| Our day continued as students had to read directions to make Jell-O. They did not only have to read it but follow the directions to create their own "bowl" of fish for One fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Students enjoyed not only making the Jell-O but also seeing their final product. |
Students then enjoyed several guest readers: Mary Ellen- Parent (Sorry I did not get a picture) Andrew Morill- AEA President Steve D.-Parent Rocio T- Parent Ms. Lopez- Parent Ms. Hernandez- Parent
| One of the most exciting moments, that you probably have heard about, seeing, or even made by now was our Oobleck. Students enjoyed analyzing the properties of the Oobleck and the mysterious response to touch. In case you wanted to create your own Oobleck at home you simply need: Corn Starch, Water, and Food Coloring for color. HELPFUL HINT: To not have a mess with the food coloring first color the water, then mix the water with the corn starch. It stills dyes the corn starch with all the mess of mixing all three ingredients. |
The students were not the only ones to enjoy Read Across America Day, teachers also love this celebration.
