To correlate to their learning this month's project has to do with animal adaptations and their habitat. Students will randomly select 3 adaptations to create a new animal species. An adaptation is a specific feature or skill which helps an animal to survive within its habitat. This project consist of making a new animal and creating the new animals habitat (the habitat can be made up) with a diorama.
The project due date is Thursday, November 7th. Classroom presentations are
Friday, November 8th.
Part 1: New Animal
After selecting their adaptations, students will build their new animal species. The animal can be made with items found at home.
To help students generate ideas of how to create their new animal based on their adaptations you can play the Switch Zoo game, to create an animal like my example.

The diorama should model a scene of the animal in its natural habitat (real, made believe, or a combination of both).
To help students generate ideas of how to create their new animal based on their adaptations you can play the Build an Online Habitat game, to create a habitat like mine.
